Memories of Beloved Animal Friends

In the past couple of weeks, some of my friends have lost their dear animal companions. Having been through this grief myself, I feel so sad for them as they come to terms with their loss.

The grief never goes away entirely; it softens, but the pain is always there. And we have those days, don’t we? When all the fur babies we’ve loved seem nearer, and yet more distant than ever. We long to hold them again and feel their warmth.

And, always, we are so grateful for the unstinting love they gave us, and that they were a part of our lives, even for such a short time.

A few years ago, I lost my own beloved Madame Pouqui, the World’s Best Cat, and wrote this song as part of my grieving process. Perhaps it will remind you of fur friends you have known and loved.
